Senior School

The Senior School provides an adult learning environment for students. The focus is to create a positive culture and maximise student learning and success.

Unit 3 and 4 Course Descriptions
A wide range of VCE subjects are offered and students study 12 units in Year 11 and 10 units in Year 12,

VCE Studies offered include:

ENGLISH: English, Literature, English as a Second Language

MATHEMATICS: Foundation Mathematics, General Mathematics (Advanced), General Mathematics (Standard), Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, Further Mathematics.

SCIENCE: Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics, Biology, Psychology.

TECHNOLOGY: IT, IT Applications, IT Software Development, Food & Technology, Design & Technology.

LOTE: French, Japanese.

HEALTH & PHYSICAL EDUCATION: Health & Human Development, Physical Education, Outdoor & Environmental Studies (to Year 10 only), Outdoor & Environmental Studies (to Year 11 only).

THE ARTS: Art, Studio Arts, Visual Communication, Drama, Media, Music Solo Performance.

HUMANITIES: Twentieth Century History, History Revolutions, Business Management, Legal Studies, Accounting, Economics, International Studies, Philosophy, Political Studies.

Frankston High School offers VET programs in conjunction with Chisholm Institute of TAFE and other providers. These courses are taken concurrently with students’ VCE studies and enable them to gain VCE credits in addition to the TAFE qualification.
