Parent Involvement

Parents/carers and families are encouraged to become involved in the Frankston High School community. There are a variety of opportunities from the formal structure of the School Council to a more informal events.

Parents/carers who are involved in school activities are giving a strong message to their children about how important their education is. Research has shown these parents/carers have children who have far more successful learning outcomes compared to parents/carers who do not become involved in their school community.

The School Council is responsible for policy-making and overseeing school operations. School Council meets eight times a year and includes six elected parent members, three community members and two student members. Committees include: Education, Finance & Sponsorship and Engagement.

The Engagement Committee welcomes parents/carers to assist in a range of areas in the school and to provide feedback on school issues and events.

There are many other opportunities to be involved with the school, including: Breakfast Club, canteen, host family and special events, such as Mother’s Day High Tea and other annual fundraising events.  If you have other ideas for offering your volunteer services to the school, we would be very pleased to hear from you.
