Ajay Harikrishnan, 2012

Ajay graduated from Frankston High School in 2012 and went on to complete his Bachelor of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering at RMIT. He has since been working in construction as a civil engineer, mainly on State Government projects as part of private construction firms. Ajay has worked on major road projects such as Hall Rd duplication, Monash Freeway Widening and rail projects such as the Melbourne metro tunnel as well as Southeast Water projects and has progressed from graduate engineer to senior project engineer along the way.

Ajay finds fulfillment in his work as a civil engineer in construction, where he helps build infrastructure that strengthens communities and leaves a lasting, positive impact on people’s lives.

Ajay came back in 2025 for Science Week and spoke to Year 9 and Year 10 assemblies as well as VCE students about his career pathway in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering.
