Beth graduated from Frankston High School in 2015 and is currently undertaking a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) specialising in Developmental Neuroscience and Fetal Physiology at Monash University. Initially, Beth studied Exercise and Sports Sciences at Deakin University for two years before deciding she wanted a career more dedicated to biomedical sciences. Beth then went on to study a Bachelor of Science at Monash University, majoring in developmental biology and physiology. Following her undergraduate degree, she completed her Honours researching stem cell therapy for newborns with diagnosed brain injury within the faculty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Along the way, Beth has considered careers in medicine, post-doctoral research and biomedical industries and is now establishing herself within academic research specialising in fields of neuroscience. She worked as a Paediatric Sleep Scientist at Monash Health while undertaking her PhD, which she will complete later this year. Her doctoral research is investigating the neurovasculature (blood vessels within the brain) in preterm babies diagnosed with fetal growth restriction (FGR) during pregnancy. Beth is particularly interested in the neurological consequences which these babies may be predisposed to, as a result of complications during pregnancy.

Beth came back to school in 2024 to speak with Year 11 students interested in careers in health, science and research.
