Callum graduated from Frankston High School in 2012 and is now a lawyer at Gilbert + Tobin in the Corporate Advisory team, working primarily on Merger & Acquisition transactions, private equity, equity capital markets and corporate governance. Following high school, Callum initially studied a Bachelor of Commerce at Melbourne University before completing his Juris Doctor (a post-graduate law degree). This helped him ensure he had a range of skills and experiences that complimented each other and improved his overall career prospects.

Callum started out his career at G+T in their Corporate Advisory team, while also rotating as a graduate through litigation and banking and insolvency. His current role covers a range of corporate activities but essentially is about helping companies buy other companies (or sell them), helping companies raise money and dealing with whatever unique or random legal issue they have. What Callum loves about his current role and team is the fast-paced and dynamic nature of the work given the size of the deals. Callum also gives back as director and company secretary of a children’s charity called Ardoch, which he assists with various pro bono matters, such as drafting visa applications for asylum seekers from Afghanistan and Myanmar.

Callum came back in 2025 to speak with Year 11 Legal Studies students about career pathways in the law.
