The application process for Year 7 enrolment is determined by the Victorian Department of Education (DE) and is initially undertaken by the primary school your child attends during Grade 6. It is not possible to apply for a place in Year 7 before your child is in Grade 6. Families residing interstate and overseas when their child is in grade 6 are advised to contact the school to make a direct application.
Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones. Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address. The DE provides guidance through the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations. You can find more information and answers to frequently asked questions on the DE’s website under School zones.
Year 7 2025 Application process
If your child is currently enrolled in a Victorian primary school, the application procedure is as follows:
1) Complete the Application for Year 7 Placement 2025 form (Government primary schools to distribute to all Grade 6 families early Term 2) and list the schools you would like your child to attend in preferred order (two choices). Return to your primary school by Friday 10 May 2024.
2) The primary school will then forward your completed application to Frankston High School.
3) On Wednesday 17 July 2024, the primary school will notify parents/carers of the results of their application. If your child does not attend a government primary school, they may not receive the Application for Year 7 Placement form. Please request this form from your child’s primary school.
Please note that Frankston High School is not able to disclose the results of the application process to parents/carers prior to being informed of the results by their primary school on 17 July 2024.
