Jane graduated from Frankston High School in 1995, art and music being her main subject focus. An opportunity in yr 8 metalwork, with teacher and future VCE art mentor, Deb Childs, inspired a love of jewellery and metalwork. She then followed her love of art and design with a Visual Arts Diploma at Chisholm, followed by a Diploma of Jewellery Design at NMIT, now Melbourne Polytechnic, where the opportunity for her apprenticeship in Mornington came about. Jane later continued to hone her trade and skills at MDT Design in the city and other jewellers in and around Melbourne and the peninsula. She now runs an established practice from her studio in Bayside Melbourne, where she specialises in repairs and restorations and handmade, bespoke creations.

Jane came back in 2025 and 2026 to take Year 9 students through the creation of their own personalised pieces of jewellery.
