Orry graduated from Frankston High School in 2005. He was School Captain in his final year and involved in the school’s footy and cricket programs throughout his school years. Orry went into a Bachelor of Media & Communications at Deakin University after finishing school with an aim of becoming a sports journalist. After a short cadetship, Orry realised this pathway was not for him and was able to use his grounding in the written word to work in various communications roles, which in turn led to him being with the Melbourne Football Club during their recent Premiership winning era. Orry is now the Chief Commercial Officer at North Melbourne, where his team of 42 people are responsible for generating the income required to field a successful AFL & AFLW football club.
Orry came back in 2025 to speak with Sports Coaching Students about career opportunities in the field.
