Home Stays

All of our International Students are placed with friendly and caring host families in quality homes with excellent facilities. Students have their own bedroom with a study area for completing homework. The food provided is plentiful and nutritious. Most importantly, students have a ‘family’ in Australia to help care for them and support them. Here is a letter from one of our host mothers:

“My husband and I have been hosting overseas students for the past 10 years. We really enjoy having children from different countries sharing our home, and our family likes to learn about the different cultures and traditions of their homelands.

We always treat them like one of our own children and ensure we take very good care of them. We make sure we include them in all family activities so that they feel part of our family. We help them with their homework and encourage the development of their English speaking skills.

One of our main concerns is for their safety and we would not allow them to do anything that we are not comfortable with our children doing.

We endeavour to show them some of our Aussie culture and give them a ‘real’ Australian experience during their stay with us. We want them and their parents to feel happy, safe and secure while they are so far away from home.”    Trudy Poole
